Sixteen-year-old Aza is trying to be a good daughter, a good friend and a good student。 She's also trying to track down fugitive billionaire Russell Pickett, who has vanished without a trace。 Alongside her Best and Most Fearless Friend, Daisy, Aza sets off in pursuit of the truth - and the $100,000 reward。

The trail leads them to Pickett's son, Davis, a sometime friend of Aza's who might have some of the clues they need。 But as her compulsive thought spirals take an ever-tightening grip on her mind, Aza finds herself struggling to keep her investigations - and her life - from falling apart。

I think that Turtles All the Way Down was a good and enjoyable read。 It has a different storyline than some others。 I think I would’ve liked to see some more character development within some of the characters。 I enjoyed the beginning of the book more as I seemed to be more attached and drawn to the pages。 I, however, don’t think I would read it again。 I think the storyline is more of a one and done。 I did like to read about Aza’s OCD and mental problems。 It was refreshing to read real thoughts I think that Turtles All the Way Down was a good and enjoyable read。 It has a different storyline than some others。 I think I would’ve liked to see some more character development within some of the characters。 I enjoyed the beginning of the book more as I seemed to be more attached and drawn to the pages。 I, however, don’t think I would read it again。 I think the storyline is more of a one and done。 I did like to read about Aza’s OCD and mental problems。 It was refreshing to read real thoughts instead of pretending as many people or books do。 I would recommend it for those who enjoy some mystery, as it does have lots of romance。 I gave it 3 stars because even though I did like the plot, some parts of the story were slow and sometimes my attention was not kept for some chapters。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 It was crazy how one of the characters called out the MC on treating her like a side character instead of a person, because the entirety of the book is full of side characters that don't get to be real people。 The love interest is compressed down into his blog posts, the little brother is boxed in as a scared little kid (but apparently tough on the streets? This never shows up at all, except when the other characters mention it)。 The best friend is reduced down to a fan-fic writer。the book follo It was crazy how one of the characters called out the MC on treating her like a side character instead of a person, because the entirety of the book is full of side characters that don't get to be real people。 The love interest is compressed down into his blog posts, the little brother is boxed in as a scared little kid (but apparently tough on the streets? I was on board with it, up until the end。 The way it wraps up, it's clear the entire side mystery was nothing but a plot device。 Nothing changed after it was solved。 Sure, it changed for other people, but nothing changed for Ada。 And as we were all stuck in adas head, that means nothing changed for us。 I guess I felt like the book spiraled into nowhere。 。。。more

A little confusing and hard to follow, but the plot is very good。 I loved the slight romance and john green always leaves bits of wisdom in his books。 A very good and accurate representation of OCD

I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to finally pick this book up off my shelf and finish it…but I’m so glad I did。

Good book, I found the depiction of the main character's mental health struggles extremely captivating and I think more realistic than any other book I've read with characters who struggle with compulsive actions and intrusive thoughts。 It was honestly quite unsettling, which I think was the intention。 Would have loved a little more follow through on the wrap up of the "mystery" part of the book though! This wasn't awful and it wasn't amazing。 The best thing about it was its depiction of mental illness, which I would have to say is the best representation I've ever seen in fiction。 But besides that, there wasn't much to make it a story I loved。 The plot wasn't overly engaging, nor were the characters or their relationships particularly likeable。 All up, it was just fine。 I will be interested to see if I enjoy the film any more once it gets released, however。 This wasn't awful and it wasn't amazing。 The best thing about it was its depiction of mental illness, which I would have to say is the best representation I've ever seen in fiction。 But besides that, there wasn't much to make it a story I loved。 The plot wasn't overly engaging, nor were the characters or their relationships particularly likeable。 All up, it was just fine。 I will be interested to see if I enjoy the film any more once it gets released, however。 。。。more

I honestly didn’t understand the title at all but once I got it, it was genius。 I picked this book up at target because it was less than 300 pages and that was exactly what I was looking for。 A “palette cleanser” if you will。 I had no idea what it was about or what genre it was! But I actually have Major depressive disorder, OCD and PTSD。 So to see my mental illnesses put in to words was breath taking。 I have been exactly where Aza was so to me this was a 12/10! It took me a bit to get into this book, but it was eye opening for me。 I have people I know that have anxiety, and I’m sympathetic, but I never really understood it。 I know everyone has different anxieties, but this book showed how much it can affect a person and how hard it is to deal with and understand it。 Thanks John!!

A wonderful YA novel filled with friendships, intimacy, family, and grief。 An intense inner dialogue with the main character’s anxiety and OCD based on the personal experiences of the author。 Beautiful storyline and unique trajectories, with lots of fun facts sprinkled in。 I’m suddenly a huge fan of the Green brothers’ novels。 Already looking forward to reading another John Green soon。

I really loved this book。 the turtles all the way down analogy fit so perfectly。 i loved how it showed all the sides of her mental health, including the reality of it never getting fully better。 even if you don’t like the story line, the quotes and comparisons in this book are enough to make you love it

Compelling storyline。 What I thought was going to be the main plot was dispelled rather early and was set on the backburner, so that was confusing。 Overall, this was a fun read and I would read again。 I found the main character's internal conflict to be very relatable, keeping my interest from start to finish。 Compelling storyline。 What I thought was going to be the main plot was dispelled rather early and was set on the backburner, so that was confusing。 Overall, this was a fun read and I would read again。 I found the main character's internal conflict to be very relatable, keeping my interest from start to finish。 。。。more

I skimmed this, to be fair。 It wasn’t as profound as other Green novels for me。 Perhaps that’s because I didn’t connect with the main character or the space theme as much。

This is the second John Green book I have read, and I am completely blown away。 Going into this I was hesitant because it is a book about mental health, and as someone who struggles and has read many other "mental health books", I was expecting your stereotypical protagonist that falls in love and is suddenly cured and then live happily ever after。 "Turtles All the Way Down" is not that。 It is realistic and sad and frustrating and real。 I felt like somehow John Green had gotten into my head and This is the second John Green book I have read, and I am completely blown away。 Going into this I was hesitant because it is a book about mental health, and as someone who struggles and has read many other "mental health books", I was expecting your stereotypical protagonist that falls in love and is suddenly cured and then live happily ever after。 "Turtles All the Way Down" is not that。 It is realistic and sad and frustrating and real。 I felt like somehow John Green had gotten into my head and wrote my thoughts and past experiences down on paper。 I recommend this book for anybody who struggles with anxiety or anyone who wants to understand the struggles of anxiety。 READ THIS BOOK。 。。。more
